Philadelphia, PA—May 26, 2016—The Business Intelligence Group announced today the winners of its inaugural Best Places to Work award. Vivint Smart Home of Provo, Utah, has been named the overall winner, and 18 other companies were recognized by category for their performances.
“With more than 1200 employee votes and an overall ranking of 4.7 out of 5 stars, it is clear that Vivint Smart Home is beloved by its employees,” said Russ Fordyce, managing director of the Business Intelligence Group. “Congratulations to the leadership team for making employees’ satisfaction and performance a priority to drive business growth.”
“We’re proud of the workplace we’ve created at Vivint and those who make it possible, and it’s highly rewarding to be recognized by a leading industry group,” said Starr Fowler, senior vice president of Human Resources at Vivint Smart Home. "Engaged employees are core to the success of our company, and we look forward to continuing to foster an environment where they are empowered and motivated to do exceptional work.”
The Best Places to Work business awards program sought to identify organizations that are actively working to improve their own performances through efforts to challenge employees in environments that make work fun and engaging. Researchers, including Gallup, have determined that employee satisfaction and engagement are key indicators for employee productivity and customer satisfaction, which ultimately results in improved profitability and growth.

Nominations for the Best Places to Work award were submitted to the Business Intelligence Group in April. Current and former employees of the nominated organizations were then asked to rate their companies online for overall satisfaction and performance.
“We are so proud to reward such an outstanding group of companies in our inaugural Best Places to Work competition,” said Russ Fordyce, managing director of the Business Intelligence Group. “Unlike our other business awards that are judged by volunteer industry experts and business leaders, this program put the power of determining winners into the hands of the employees themselves. We were amazed at the sheer percentage of employees who participated in making their respective companies win. That alone should serve as testament to the success of each organization.”
