Madan Thangavelu is a senior technology leader, inventor, and cloud platform architect. He currently serves as a Senior Director of Engineering at Uber, where he leads the development of the Uber Rider app and the real-time fulfillment platform supporting over 10 billion trips annually. He helped shape Uber’s core architecture during its global scale-up, building systems known for reliability and developer experience. Before Uber, Madan led mobile malware detection efforts at Lookout, protecting millions of Android users from emerging threats. Earlier, at BrightScope, he helped uncover hidden 401(k) fees, improving retirement transparency for millions of Americans.
