2026 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards: Honoring the Organizations, Products, Teams, and Individuals Defining What AI Can Actually Do

2026

Winners Announced Across 36 Industries and 15+ Countries

March 24, 2026 - Philadelphia, PA - The Business Intelligence Group today announced the winners of the 2026 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards, a global recognition program honoring the companies, products, teams, and individuals defining what responsible, results-driven artificial intelligence looks like in practice. This year's cohort spans 36 industries and more than 15 countries - demonstrating that AI has graduated from experiment to enterprise infrastructure.

"The 2026 AI Excellence Award winners are not talking about AI. They are building with it," said Russ Fordyce, Chief Recognition Officer at the Business Intelligence Group. "What stood out this year was the sheer accountability of the work. These are organizations and individuals who can point to measurable outcomes - lives protected, fraud prevented, patients helped, workflows transformed. Agentic AI emerged as the dominant theme, which tells you something important: the industry has moved past prompts and pilots. The winners are now orchestrating AI systems that act, adapt, and deliver at scale."

Overall Winner - AI Excellence Awards: AI Clearing

AI Clearing - the most advanced AI-native construction management platform operating across the US and global markets - has been named the Overall Winner among Innovative Products by the Business Intelligence Group.

Founded by former PwC leaders Adam Wisniewski and Michael Mazur, AI Clearing is the world's first ISO-42001-certified construction technology company, providing a single source of truth and 100% accuracy on large-scale infrastructure projects. By utilizing its proprietary Foundational Vision Model, the platform automates project reporting and prevents costly rework, ensuring that global infrastructure is built on automated AI analysis and real-time visibility. While the platform scales across all types of infrastructure, AI Clearing has already earned the trust of 8 out of 10 of the largest solar contractors in the United States.

“Being recognized for AI Excellence alongside global innovators is a meaningful validation of the vision we started with,” said Michael Mazur, CEO of AI Clearing. “We built this AI-native platform to solve the complex challenges of the construction sector through our foundational AI vision model and data-driven precision. This recognition is a testament to the hard work of our entire team and the trust our clients place in our data every day.”

Outstanding Individual: Dr. Julia Penfield, VelocityEHS

Dr. Julia Penfield, Senior Vice President and Chief AI Officer at VelocityEHS, has been named the Overall Winner among Innovative Individuals. She built the company’s   AI capability from the ground up—joining as its  first machine learning scientist and, in under five years, growing the function into a team of 10 PhD-level researchers. Her team has secured 14 U.S. patents, published seven peer-reviewed papers, including two  in Nature, and commercialized AI innovations that enable enterprise and mid-market organizations worldwide to significantly   reduce serious workplace injuries—with some VelocityEHS ergonomics customers reporting reductions as high as 50% to 97%— through data-driven prevention strategies. Today, the VelocityEHS AI technology helps protect the health and safety of more than 10 million workers.

Dr. Penfield's work represents what responsible AI looks like in practice: scientific rigor applied to real-world safety problems, with results  measured in injuries prevented and lives protected. Her commitment to peer-reviewed  publication underscores her belief that AI innovation should be transparent, ethical and grounded in science.

Outstanding Organization: BostonGene

BostonGene has been recognized as the Overall Winner among Innovative Organizations for its multimodal AI platform that uses digital twin technology to transform oncology clinical trial design. By integrating genomics, transcriptomics, immune profiling, and imaging data into dynamic patient-centered simulations, BostonGene enables biology-driven patient selection and real-time risk-informed development decisions - turning static clinical data into predictive intelligence that can be acted upon.

"This recognition reflects the depth of the science our team has built and the clinical partners who trusted us to help them make better decisions for patients," said Erin Keleher, spokesperson for BostonGene. "We believe the future of oncology drug development runs through AI-powered biological modeling, and we are proud to be at the forefront of that shift."

Outstanding Team: LCPO AI Team, Intuit

The LCPO AI Team at Intuit has been named the Overall Winner among Innovative Teams for its cross-functional work making AI accessible, trustworthy, and privacy-forward for consumers and small businesses at scale. Led by Kerry McLean (EVP and General Counsel), Liza Levitt, and Elise Houlik, the team embedded responsible AI into financial tools used by more than 100 million customers, lowering barriers to adoption while protecting data privacy - demonstrating that trust and performance are not a tradeoff.

AI for Good: Special Category Recognition

The 2026 program includes dedicated recognition for AI that serves a higher purpose - advancing social good, accessibility, and ethical decision-making. This year's honorees demonstrate that AI's most important applications are not always the most visible ones.

Cambridge Mobile Telematics was recognized in AI for Social Good for its platform analyzing mobility sensor data to model driving behavior, identify crashes, and improve road safety. CMT's AI has helped prevent thousands of crashes and is trusted by insurers, fleets, and governments worldwide.

EY and Bayer Crop Science earned recognition in AI for Social Good for a generative AI system built on Microsoft Azure that turns decades of agronomic knowledge into expert guidance accessible to farmers and advisors in developing regions - with the potential to boost yields and empower underserved agricultural communities at scale.

Accedia was recognized in AI for Social Good for engineering a clinical triage system for Vet-AI, rebuilding an unstable legacy stack in four months and outperforming leading AI models on clinical accuracy, delivering 20x faster releases and dramatically improved diagnostic outcomes.

LCPO AI Team, Intuit was recognized in AI for Social Good for embedding responsible AI into financial tools used by more than 100 million customers, lowering barriers to adoption for consumers and small businesses while protecting data privacy at scale.

Saurabh Doshi, OptimizeGEO was recognized for co-founding a platform built for the generative engine optimization era - helping brands achieve visibility and discoverability as AI systems increasingly mediate how people find information.

Studio intO was recognized in AI in Ethical Decision-Making for its Equitable AI Framework, which helps leading technology companies design ethical, inclusive AI experiences by embedding cultural context and lived experience into UX - ensuring AI reflects the full diversity of the people it serves.

What the 2026 Winners Reveal About AI Excellence

The 2026 Artificial Intelligence Excellence Awards tell a story that is both specific and significant: the era of AI experimentation is over. These are the patterns that define this year's class.

Agentic AI is the dominant story of 2026. The Agentic AI category drew more recognition than any other category by a factor of more than two. Organizations are no longer satisfied with AI that analyzes or suggests. They are deploying AI that takes action: routing, escalating, negotiating, and completing tasks with minimal human intervention to drive measurable performance. The shift from reactive intelligence to autonomous execution is the clearest signal in the data.

The trust layer is now a competitive requirement. Cybersecurity and Fraud Detection and Prevention combined for more recognition than any single category except Agentic AI, with winners spanning zero-trust identity architectures, real-time voice biometric fraud prevention, and agentic red-teaming platforms designed to stress-test AI systems before deployment. The message from this class is unambiguous: AI without built-in accountability is not enterprise-ready.

Healthcare AI is posting clinical-grade results. Winners in health-related categories documented outcomes that go well beyond efficiency claims. Dr. Julia Penfield's work at VelocityEHS reduced serious workplace injuries by 50 to 97 percent across a platform protecting 10 million workers. Sagility Nurse Assist is reshaping clinical support workflows in ways measurable in nurse-hours recovered and patient outcomes improved. Phonak's AI-powered hearing platforms earned recognition for blending medical precision with consumer-grade usability. The bar for meaningful health AI has been raised considerably.

Augmented Intelligence signals a market that has outgrown the replacement narrative. One of the fastest-growing categories in this year's program, Augmented Intelligence recognizes AI that amplifies human judgment rather than replacing it. Winners including Concentrix iX Hero, Sagility Nurse Assist, Cars.com, and Cargill are deploying AI in ways that make skilled people more effective, not redundant.

Orchestration and infrastructure are the unglamorous work that makes everything else possible. Winners in Orchestration, Analytics, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and Infrastructure and Operations reflect a market that has moved past model selection and is now investing in the plumbing: how AI systems connect to real data, route tasks across enterprise workflows, and operate reliably at scale. Impel Service AI with Voice AI, SymphonyAI Eureka, IFS, and Cleo all earned recognition in this space.

The geography of AI excellence is expanding. Winners in this year's program represent organizations headquartered across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Vietnam, China, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Japan, and India. AI leadership is not concentrated in any single market or industry.

The 2026 AI Excellence Award class represents a field that has found its footing. The winners are accountable, measurable, and building for the long term.
