PHILADELPHIA—April 23, 2014—The Business Intelligence Group today announced the winners of the 2014 PR Excellence Awards program that recognize top agencies and campaigns that produce tangible results for clients.

The 2014 Campaign of the Year award was given to H3O Communications for their campaign to support the launch of Automatic Labs and their iPhone app that pairs with a small hardware device to link to a car’s onboard computer. Once the app is connected, Automatic helps driver save money and time, while making them smarter about their car’s performance.

H3O’s public relations campaign yielded hundreds of stories and interviews nationwide, many with in-car demonstrations. Top tier media outlets, including CNBC, The Verge, CNET, Fast Company, the San Francisco Chronicle and Wired, covered the launch.

The 2014 Agency of the Year award was given to Peppercomm for their efforts to pre-launch furniture maker Steelcase’s newest task chair called Gesture—the first chair designed to accommodate the use of smart phones and tablets.

Peppercomm used traditional public relations tactics, as well as videos, renderings, “test rides” of the chair and a unique posture study commissioned by Steelcase to gain exposure.

The campaign resulted in more than 2,000 inquiries on the Steelcase website, and previews with more than 250 major corporations worldwide. Once launched, the order rate for the new Gesture chair was so high that the lead-time to delivery was double that of a normal order.

“Our inaugural year of rewarding great performances in public relations revealed some amazing creativity for getting the word out,” said Russ Fordyce, managing director of the Business Intelligence Group. “Each of our winners produced results that exceeded client expectations, and more importantly, engaged the appropriate audiences. It is clear that product and communications innovations are happening at an accelerated rate. Both Peppercomm and H3O Communications are driving unique results for their clients and we congratulate both teams for their outstanding work.”

The Business Intelligence Group also announced a new industry awards program called the 2014 Status Awards that seeks to recognize companies innovating and using the Cloud. “The Cloud is clearly revolutionizing how we use technology and communicate,” Fordyce said. “We are rewarding individuals and organizations that are helping to accelerate the development and adoption of these services. All too often the individuals and organizations that help build great products go unnoticed, and we hope to change that with our new awards program.”

The deadline for nominations for the Stratus Awards is June 16, 2014. Organizations and individuals that would like more information can visit the company’s website at www.bigawards.org.
